Archaeological evidence shows that Native Americans were living on the site of present-day Manchester more than 2,000 years ago. The modern town of Manchester came into being in 1836 as the county seat of Coffee County, a role it still plays today.

For a town its size, Manchester has a lot of offer visitors. One of the most popular attractions is the Old Stone Fort Archeological Park. This is the site where the Indian relics over 2,000 years old were discovered. The site is still being excavated, and there are lots of educational and informational programs held here.

The Old Stone Fort Archeological Park is also home to a museum that displays many of the artifacts that have been discovered on the site. It also traces the history of the Native Americans that once lived in and around Manchester.

Visitors can camp and hike around the Old Stone Fort Archeological Fort, enjoying the natural beauty of the area.

Next to the Old Stone Fort Archeological Park is the Old Stone Fort Golf Course. This nine-hole course offers a very beautiful layout along the Old Duck River. There are lots of beautiful, old trees framing the fairways. The course has a well-equipped pro shop that offers refreshments and equipment rentals.

DJ's Gameroom is a popular attraction in Manchester. It offers lots of fun arcade games that are a hit with kids. There are even some old arcade classics to appeal to the older folks.

A great place to visit for history buffs is Arrowheads Aerospace Cultural Center. This unique place offers lots of war artifacts from the Indian conflicts, the Civil War and World Wars I and II. There are also a lot of classic toys on display, including an amazing collection of model trains. Arrowheads Aerospace Cultural Center also features an old-fashioned country store that will be a hit with people of all ages.

Golfers visiting Manchester will enjoy playing the course at the Willowbrook Golf Club. It offers four sets of tee boxes that will challenge golfers of every skill level. The 18-hole links layout is a Par 72.

Whiskey fans visiting Manchester will want to take the time to visit the nearby Jack Daniel's Distillery. It offers tours of the grounds with a look at how the famous whiskey is made. The end of the tour even features a tasting of the product.

The biggest attraction in Manchester is the annual Bonnaroo music festival. This four-day affair features multiple stages of big-time musicians. The festival draws 100,000 people every June, and they all camp on the 700-acre farm the festival is held on.
